Why this matters
Almost every paver failure we get called out to fix — shifting, sinking, weeds pushing up through the joints — traces back to inadequate base prep, not the pavers themselves. Expansive desert soil moves more than people expect between our hot summers and cooler winters, and skipping proper compaction and drainage shows up as a sunken patio two or three years later. So we excavate to the right depth, compact real road-base aggregate in lifts instead of dumping it in all at once, and grade for drainage before a single paver goes down. Travertine pool deck, concrete driveway, natural stone walkway — same standard, every time.
